Review - Anna and the French Kiss (Stephen Perkins)

Name: Anna and the French Kiss
Author: Stephanie Perkins
Release Date: December 2, 2010, Dutton Publishing (372 pages).
Synopsis: Anna is waiting for his last year in Atlanta, where he has a great job, a loyal best friend and a crush on the verge of becoming more. That's why you're little excited to be sent to a boarding school in Paris ¾ until he meets Etienne St. Clair: smart, charming, beautiful, Etienne has everything ... including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City Light, desires have a way of becoming reality.

The story, told in first person with short chapters, is fresh, light, with the necessary touch of fun and sentimentality, and through each chapter you discover something new about the main characters (something that even they did not know themselves).

Stephanie is responsible for recreating many parts of Paris that makes the reader log every step and every feeling that Anna has, but not based solely on describing the surrounding landscape. also under a constant pace of writing, Stephanie takes us through the description of the personality of each member of the gang, Anna's feelings and St. Clair, of their behavior and self-discovery.

Anna is a girl living a normal life in Atlanta with a friend who loves and a possible future love, when suddenly looks across the ocean to study at a boarding school in Paris. And all thanks to her father. She has grown into a somewhat dysfunctional family, growing up with his divorced mother and her brother for seven years, while his father was dedicated to pursuing his dream, becoming a writer of novels where the main theme are the protagonists evicted (something that Anna does not feel very proud: S)

Like any teenager of seventeen, Anna is a queen drama (Plus a crazy order, a devoted sister and a girl-friendly, safe and centered) . During the early chapters lawless and extremist thoughts make you drop a lot of smiling and rolling his eyes many times. But then you realize the true good things about Anna, and their commitment to be the best film critic in America, its unconditional love for his brother and mother (and his father, although not support) , and how facing the fear of living in Paris (because the idea scares) , how is slowly discovering that the language is not an obstacle, and that Paris is truly a lovely city (and I do not know Paris, I was in it with the way the writer describes all ).

there is the fact that during much of the time A nna restrain those feelings is starting to wake one of his new friends ; and restrained because he has a girlfriend, and she , with all its southern charm, does not pretend to be a third prong (although that does not stop the feelings still been there: S) .

Etienne St. Clair, a boy fully divine, with his English accent, the French name and American style is the perfect combination to raise libido many girls (and does, because during the course of reading, you discover that not only desired Anna ) . And what I like most is that Etienne is not a popular boy to play soccer, or being rich or being handsome, he is because he: chivalrous, sweet, short, thoughtful, a little sensual, a little shy, and a good friend.

And from the first moment, from Anna and Etienne is a click a link born and raised in the book, a tension that can not be ignored. And it's not just the idea of \u200b\u200bcompletely falling in love (do not forget that he has a girlfriend) , but the idea that known little by little, they discover each other, give birth to a beautiful friendship based on trust and good vibes , which gradually and unavoidably, will take over.

"You fixing all that messed-seat to my hands, which are resetting the elephant. It was not polite for me to come and start playing your stuff.
"Oh, okay," I say quickly, releasing the figurine. Mine can play anything you want.
He freezes. A funny look crosses her face before I realize what I said. I did not say so .
not well that would be so bad.

Etienne Both Anna as they discover that there are more defects did not know that there are fears that stops and leaves no doubt that know how to act, but also discover that they have to each other, and that their friendship will help them overcome many things I did not feel able, as the fear of Anna to visit Paris, which is due by the major councils of Etienne and his constant interest in helping, and as the fear that Etienne has to change and to his own father (which has a weight deep in the book, but which does not speak for no spoiler xD)

With a friend in Atlanta is not as fair as it seems, a guy who wanted out but now can not, a friend in France that seems completely in love with Etienne, and a couple of friends are a couple and do not stop to roll every two seconds, completing the secondary template Anna accompanying juveniles. And do not forget Ellie, girlfriend, whom he did not get to notice because they just get a couple of times, but you get to annoyed by his constant presence in the life of Etienne.

With charming characters, a description exquisite, a real relationship with all its ups and downs touches, Anna and the French Kiss book becomes a must for those who enjoy Juvenile Literature.

As for the English translation of the book, the author hopes that it will be soon:
